Made in Canada

More and more people are shopping local and/or independent businesses and buying direct from the maker as they realize this not only benefits our communities and economy but gives you a great feeling when you support a local vendor!

It is an ethical choice. News stories of people being treated unfairly and even losing their lives working in sweat shops overseas are encouraging us to think differently when using our purchasing dollars.

All of my products are made with the above in mind. My photo clothing is made in Canada through and through from beginning to end, right down to the weaving of the fabric. My jewelry is of course hand made by yours truly and all my photography and jewelry supplies are sourced either here in Vancouver or just south of the border from our neighbours in the US.

Here are just a few reasons why you can feel good about supporting independent retailers and service providers!

Independent businesses:

  • recycle a large portion of their revenue back into the local economy, enriching the community and economy while putting less stress on Mother Nature.
  • use less energy than a mass production assembly line, making your product more environmentally friendly.
  • take the time to get to know you and offer customization and attention to detail that you wouldn't be able to get with a chain store.
  • follow strict standards and guidelines that ensure their employees are treated fairly and work in safe and sanitary conditions.
  • hire locally and generally pay their employees better than chain stores do.
  • sell distinctive products that tell a story and make you feel good for purchasing
